Got home before dark...

so I could take a picture of my scrap lifted project that Lisa sent to me. Does the time change where you live? I really wish it wouldn't change here. When I received the beautiful candle that Lisa made for me I decided that I wanted to try and recreate my version. So here you go. I did three different ones over the weekend and wanted to share with you. Thanks for sharing your idea with me Lisa! These are quick and easy gifts to make! The candle inside is cinnamon bun flavor, ohhhh does it smell yummy. Shh, I am taking a few to Hershey with me to give as RAKs

This one is for my blog friend Maddy! The pic below is the
lazy days of summer punch by Fiskars!
Isn't it beautiful?

Lisa inspired me...

to make some candles like the one below. I am just a little sluggish tonight and have not taken any pictures. Will try and get some up later this week!
Wow do weekends go by fast! Did some scrapping on Sunday, but other then that not much happening in my neck of the woods. How about yours?

Have you ever had one of those days...

where you tried to get too many things accomplished and the more you did, the more back tracking you had to do? Well join the club, today was that kind of day for me! No matter what I did, it all went south! So my end-of-the-day fix for all of this was...send my honey an email and ask him if he would like to go out for dinner. He happily emailed me back and said "sure!" So we went to this little restaurant, had a few drinks, some appetizers, played a little keno! It is amazing how quickly my day changed!
Thanks Sweetie!

Day off on Monday...

so I decided I was going to scrap and I always wondered what my furry girls did while we were at work. Well check this out! The younger one decided she was going to climb my shelving unit with some of my supplies on and sunbathe and the older one climbed on the couch to keep an eye on me and/or wait for the younger one to be put in a time out for knocking things off the top shelf.

I just received another one of those....

forward emails from one of my nephews and it contained a powerful message!
"God determines who walks into your life....it's up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go."
Isn't this the truth! Just had to share!

What an exciting mail day...

Look what I received in the mail today!!!! An autographed copy of "Paper + Pixels Scrapbook Layouts!" Can you peek in the inside cover and see May's signature? I have been wanting this book ever since it hit the shelves! Now I have it. I won this from May Flaum's blog. Can you tell by my post that I am a wee bit excited? Thank you so much May!

I will be putting my current book, "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" down for a little while! Which is currently the book from Oprah's Book Club.

Yummo...

did you guess what it is yet? My version of potato soup! Made with some red potatoes, milk, butter, flour, onions, celery, Mrs. Dash, pepper, Idaho potato flakes, bacon bits, cheddar cheese and a few other ingredients! My husband and I love to prepare many different soups during the colder months and today it was a little nippy and I had most of the ingredients except for the cheese. I started the soup while Jim went to get the cheese. It definitely hit the spot! Yummo!

Amish living...

at it's best! We went to the Amish country this weekend for their Fall Festival and it is one of the best fall festivals around. I love getting to know the Amish people!

So peaceful!

The sounds of the horses!Price of bails of hay versus prices of gallon of gas?!?!

We enjoyed every minute of our get-a-way! Already planning on going back next year. My husband also enjoyed this time away. They also have many things for the men to see! Car museum, live music, etc. Our furry girl, Keesha went with us and also have a great time, she has been sleeping all day. We wore the poor girl out! We also visited an Amish farm and got to know the Yoder family. They had Pomeranian puppies for sale and no I didn't bring one home, even thou I tried. We brought many goodies, chocolate covered oreos, candied buckeyes, kettle popcorn, homemade pie, etc. There was also a scrapbook store in the Davis Mercantile! Wow did they have a lot of Fiskars products, finally found my Lazy days of summer punch, spent lots of money there!

Remember to spread your wings...

and smile! I wish I would have taken this picture, but I didn't! This is truly a smile from God! I received this in one of those "forward" emails, that most of the time I truly don't have the time to read! What made me open this particular one? I wish I knew who took the picture. It is all about the timing! Can you imagine having your camera in hand and seeing this? Do you think whoever took this picture saw the smile as they were taking the picture?
Enjoy!

Watching my nephew playing....

fall ball is one of my favorite things to do! Zack plays on a traveling team and plays shortstop. When he was little he was the catcher, which seems like yesterday. He is one of the fastest running players, he is great at stealing bases! Love ya Zack!
