This weekend was a whirlwind one...

we were home maybe 4 hours of daylight. Saturday we went to see our nephew, Zack play baseball and got home around 10:30 pm. Sunday we went to a baby shower for our niece and nephew, Jennifer and Robert. Stopped on the way home to do a little grocery shopping. Returned home about 6:00 pm. I was totally exhausted from all the running took a nap and now it is almost time to jump in bed to get some sleep so I begin the work week! Isn't it weird, the warmer it gets, the busier our weekends become? I will post photos tomorrow!

I was out of town for my sis's birthday...

Was it a great Easter...

for you? I had a different kind of Easter! We usually visit family on Easter and decided to forgo the tradition and begin a new tradition this year. Here is where I spent Easter along with my sister, Ruthie, my niece, Megan, and some friends.
Wood County Senior Citizen's Center

We decided to spend our Easter serving these special people!

We had so much fun doing this and met a lot of nice people. Ruthie getting ready to put the butter in serving dishes.

Larry and Scott were a lot of fun and they even want to go back for Thanksgiving! Larry is our hairdresser and he was also our "eye" candy for the day!

Ruthie, Megan and myself after we took our hairnets off. Oh my goodness, didn't they know that we wanted our hair to look good! Should of had the photo taken prior to those hairnets. Seriously I am going to think twice about doing that again! LOL!

Did you or do you...

cross stitch? I was visiting one of the scrapbooking communities I belong to and there was a question posted asking if anyone ever cross stitched. Well, I did before I started scrappin' and decided to share one of the many projects I did and thought why not post it here. I did this Amish farm in either 1993 or 1994 and I worked on it every chance I could get and it took me six months to finish. It still hangs in our family room.

Have you heard of Scleroderma....

if not click here. My mom passed away of this horrible disease at an early age of 57 in 1980. My plans are to have a crop some time this year to raise funds for research. But in the mean time I found another scrapper who lost her mom to this disease. She is doing a scrapbooking class to raise funds. If you are interested in taking a scrapbooking class for only $20.00, please click here. Here is a little bit about the class, Over three weeks, in 9 sessions, you will make scrapbook pages inspired by a walk down memory lane, This walk will be triggered by a big collection of "mom-isms" that Tami has translated into a scrapbooking adrenaline rush. Join her for a grand total of 72 challenges. She'll be awarding weekly prizes based upon challenge completion, as well as a couple of grand prizes at the end. Hurry class begins Apri 27, 2009.

My Honey...

also loved our trip to West Virginia, he went site seeing while I cropped on Saturday, but guess who had the camera, me. One of the girls at the crop mentioned a restaurant that my honey might like. On Sunday we decided to go hunt this restaurant down. We found it, but couldn't believe it! They say people from all over make a stop here. I have to share some photos, because they is no way I could describe what we saw. Food was awesome and the staff also entertains you while you wait for your food. It was so busy there that we had to wait 30 minutes for a hot dog. The name of the place is called "Hillbilly Hotdog!"

What a crazy time in...

West Virginia!!! One of the reasons for our weekend get-a-way was to go to a fundraising crop for Lupus! My friend, Maxine's brother-in-law passed away with Lupus and this was her 2nd annual crop. There were 35 people there and the crop raised $2000!

There were girls from Ohio, Virginia, Michigan, and of course West Virginia!!

Groovy Deborah was suppose to come to Hershey last fall and couldn't and I have been waiting to meet this crazy chick:

Here are two of my new friends I got to sit by, Sherri is on the left and is from Ohio and Jeannie is in the middle from West Virginia!

These three crazy chicks were across from me, from left to right is Maxine, who was the hostess with the mostess, next to her is Jill, Denise and Deborah, from Virginia!

There was another chickie that sat beside me and that was Gail, why didn't I get a photo of Gail, not sure, but she pretty much kept me laughing the entire crop!
Last but not least, then there was Mary who generously gave her time to auction off the donated items! She is definitely an entertaining auctioneer.

Stay tuned because tomorrow I will post about my hubby's adventures in WV!!!

Martha, West Virginia...

did you know there was such a place. I will be 3 miles from this city/town today croppin'! I will be definitely checking this town out and getting some photos. What a cool layout this will make!!! We are having a great time so far. Of course Jim had to take a side trip up into the mountains, it was beautiful. Lots of trees are in bloom! It is definitely looking like Spring! Hopefully the weather will be warmer today. It has been cold and rainy.
