Cutest little evergreens...

Have you ever made these?
They are super quick, easy, and inexpensive!
and some kind of strong adhesive or a hot glue gun
Step 1
For large Christmas trees, use an adjustable circle cutter to make 2-, 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-inch-diameter circles from green card stock (for small trees, omit the 6-inch circle).
Step 2
Fold each circle in half 4 times with a bone folder. While circles are folded, snip off the tip of each piece, forming a very small hole in center. See photo below, please ignore the paper clip on fold #4, was just trying to hold it together to get a photo of correct fold.
Step 3
Place smallest circle on the pointed end of a wooden skewer (I used 12-inch skewers), letting the tip poke through the hole in circle. With a hot-glue gun, dab underside of circle, where paper and skewer meet. Hold for 10 seconds to secure.
Step 4 Working 1 at a time from smallest circle to largest, slide remaining circles onto skewer; secure with glue.
Insert bottom of skewer into a spool; remove, and cut skewer to desired height (I cut mine to 6, 9, and 10 inches), keeping in mind that the spool should be visible beneath the standing tree. Return skewer to spool; secure with glue. Add a dot of glue to top of skewer, and attach a gold bead or make a star like I did below!
I was inspired by Martha Stewart!

For thanksgiving my hubby...

ask me to go to South Bend, Indiana because he has always wanted to see the University of Notre Dame. Hmmmm, I could not figure out why! I thought what the heck, I think Shipshewana is on the way or the way back! So we headed out on Wednesday afternoon, it was only a two hour or so drive! Did a little shopping on the way! Thanksgiving we ate our thanksgiving meal at an awesome restrurant in Elkart, Indiana and do you think I could remember the name of it?!?!? After the meal we drove to Notre Dame and after visiting the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, wow what a beautiful, breathtaking church, I now realized why hubby wanted to go! Sacred Heart Church's earliest history dates to the last quarter of the 17th century when the French were attempting to establish both a colonial and a Catholic presence in the St. Joseph River Valley in northern Indiana.
Photobucket
Explaination of each photo!
top left = The doors to the Basilica
top right = a close up of one of the chairs, the wood cravings in this place is amazing
2nd row left = some additional seating
2nd row right = a close up of one of the many stain glass windows
3rd row left = this is one of three alters, this one is the original and is only used for very special masses, as in masses during finals week for the students
3rd row right = this was on top of the second alter and was breathtaking, it had statues of the 12 tribes from the bible
4th row left = The "Grotto", which is (Italian grotta) is any type of natural or artificial cave that is associated with modern, historic or prehistoric use by humans. Here is a photo I found on the internet of one in Germany

They told us that the one in my collage during finals week that there are candles sitting every where! We lit 3 candles in memory of my Father-in-law, My Mom and Dad, and our niece. When we walked down the stairs and turned the corner and saw this, I just gasp! I had not seen anything like this before!
4th row right = another photo of the grotto, people had left notes to love ones that had passed on
5th row left = Amish country! I had taken a photo of how they decorated for Fall and definitely wanted to see how they decorated for Christmas. It is a very small town that has lots of really neat craft, handmade furniture, holiday decorations, restraurants, one lonely scrapbbooking store, and many other speciality items stores. One of my favorite places to visit and it is approximately 1 1/2 hours from home.
5th right = Amish country! They give rides in Amish Buggies pulled by a horse to the public for only $7.00. They take you a ride around the town!!!

Michelle who is the owner of LIC was having a Scrap Pink Crop in honor of her Mom who is a survivor of Inflammatory Breast Cancer for a year now! The physician only gave her Mom a couple of months to live and now she is free of cancer!!! I created this bra in her honor:

On a golden pond...

it has been awhile since I posted, but this month just flew by. Jim and I took a little trip to Sacramento California for a few days to get away and I met up with some crazy scrapbooking buddies and had a wonderful time! We left last Thursday morning and came back this Tuesday evening. We wanted to see so many things while we were there but just ran out of time. As soon as I upload the photos off my camera I will share some of them here. One of the reason we went was to go raise money for Breast Cancer and here are a few of the projects I did while I was there! OK I guess you will get a sneek peek at what I created! As soon as I upload the photos from my camera I will post the entire photo!
Photobucket

Of course for a "Scrap Pink" crop you must alter a bra. I went to the dollar store and got everything for three bucks to do mine. It consist of lots of Crete paper, some sparkly beads on a ribbon. Just a tad time consuming!

What is Inflammatory Breast Cancer?
It's a different type of breast cancer that comprises less than 4 percent of all breast cancer cases. It's called inflammatory breast cancer or IBC and it's aggressive , but many doctor don't think to look for it. It's estimated that about 1%-2% of newly diagnosed invasive breast cancers in the United States are inflammatory breast cancers. The median age range of IBC patients is between 45 and 55 years old, but may be either younger or older. The 5-year median survival rate is approximately 40%, mainly due to delays in diagnosis, the lack of expertise in treating IBC and its resistance to treatment with standard chemotherapy drugs.

Happy Anniversary...
